Beyond the Sanctuary
Rita's Cat Rescue doesn't just care for cats inside our walls. We manage four feral cat colonies in downtown Beatrice, working with the community to humanely control the population and keep the business district healthy.

The humane standard for feral cat management
TNVR is the gold standard for humane feral cat population management. Instead of lethal methods, cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped for identification, and returned to their managed colonies. Over time, colonies stabilize and naturally decrease in size.
Trap

Neuter

Vaccinate

Community PartnerThe Beatrice Humane Society is the municipal shelter for Gage County. Rita's Cat Rescue serves as the safety net for cats the shelter cannot keep long-term — the chronically ill, the elderly, and the fearful. We are complementary, not competing.
